The customers criteria was to create an extremely low maintenance garden incorporating a pond and feature while allowing access to a private area to the rear of the building.
A possible future development in a field behind, gave rise to the private trellised archway. This space had to be terraced and retained to withhold the rise in the land behind. A small area of decking was laid to enhance the warm feeling. This was laid flush with natural stone slabbing which gave rise to a nice change in texture, whilst incorporating any trip hazard for the senior client. This area captures the majority of the sun in the garden, while remaining entirely private and has an elevated view of the pond and border planting behind.
